Generally quotas for deer and elk are not officially set until the first week in May. But the recommendations have been made and you can prob find them if you dig. They don’t have to approve the amounts recommended but they usually do

It says the payment deadline is 15 days after the draw results are posted. So I'm guessing watching your card won't give you early results. On or before May 1 for sheep and goat.

BTW, anyone apply as a non-resident for S9 rifle ram? They didn't put it as an option in the printed booklet but it was in the online version a bit later.

Elmer that is the deadline, meaning if your card has given them trouble, you have until that date to get it remedied and get the tag payed for or it goes to the next in line or the leftover list.

Elmer. I applied there as NR. I know afew others as well that did.
I figured a lot of casual NR wouldn’t apply for S9 due to the omission in the printed regulations.

I also assumed others that follow the draws/odds closely or are members of Huntin’ Fool/Epic etc which were alerted to the omission would apply there just to hopefully get a little better odds, myself included. It will be interesting to see how it turns out.

Good luck guys!

It'll all happen the first, posted online, cc hits, and the thanx for playin emails. And not really all that far apart from each other.

I drew S9 archery. I know it’s brutal. Will anyone who knows about that hunt PM me? I’m just looking for as much info as I can gather. BTW hunted that San Juan’s in 17’ for Moutain Goats, the San Juan’s are brutal mountains as well so I feel I have a pretty good idea of what I got myself into. Haha

You drew sheep in the Sangrias, right? Not sure if we are talking about goats. They may have a goat hunt there now for all I know. There used to be some sheep threads years ago. Don't know how much things have changed; can't imagine much.

Drew sheep yes, just was saying I had a goat tag in 17’ in the San Juan’s G5 and it was brutal. I can’t imagine the sangres being anymore brutal. But like I asked if anyone know about the unit.

I did the Sangrias thing a couple of times. Pretty steep in there, but what I hated most was the lightning. Just for fun, here's an S9 ram from a few years back.

Look for them in the roughest places you can find. Have fun, I wish I still had the wheels

.:)

I saw a fair amount of sheep when I had an early rifle deer tag in 2003. What was brutal there in addition to the steepness is that it was so far from the truck! Camped 4 miles in. Killed deer 5 miles. I don’t have the wheels any more either!
