    I'M CALLIN BS!!!

Everything I find indicates a 7-10 year life span as average. Along with the fact that they can breed at 2 years. So I guess everybody can be happy. Apparently only the big ones die young. (Come on Bess you can find a song for that last line. I know you can.)

Anyone remember that one time back in the good ole days? The year was...

@2lumpy I tend to agree with your first post. https://www.deseret.com/1990/9/21/18882039/1990-deer-hunt-is-getting-mixed-reports/ https://scholarsarchive.byu.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=2840&context=gbn...

Those who are working on the new deer plan may take yours or my comments under consideration or not My guess is not. But their recommendations are going into a 10 year plan and the recommendations will effect you much more than me..

    Once in a lifetime.

Interesting question for sure. I'm 58 years in. Never shot a book buck deer or antelope. Never even shot a big elk on my OIL UT elk hunt at 61 years old. I don't have any desire to hunt the traditional OIL species. Just doesn't float my boat. I've managed to have a deer permit every year since I...

I didn't say that. You said that. If somebody has a crazy idea that raising fees is some how going to reduce applicants they are smoking some good ****. That won't happen.

Pretty short sighted view IMO. How high do you think fees need to get to reduce applications? Talking resident only. One only has to look how high they can go based on non resident fees. Pricing others out of hunting is only good until you get priced out. No shortage of people who can and are...

Most my grand kids are in line and pretty close. I'm not too worried about the great grand kids. I'll let their parents worry about it. Attrition happens no matter what you do.

I get it. It is about managing people. Or at least about how others want to manage people. Some just don't agree how others want to manage people. If the management idea is to limiting how many bucks can be killed then simply eliminate those that do kill bucks for an appropriate amount of time...

Increasing people population and decreasing animal population is the hole we are digging. How individual people get to participate with a diminishing resource is nothing but semantics. The pie is getting smaller and those that want a piece is getting bigger. With that said I have no idea how...

May 2nd 2024 Wildlife Board meeting

I can point to where they are not being hunted in any appreciable numbers. Does that count? Come on it should be a simple question. Obviously you have the the data. Show us.

May 2nd 2024 Wildlife Board meeting

I admit I'm not as smart as some on here and I don't know every unit in Utah like I should so for the betterment of my education what deer units in Utah general or LE are gaining more deer in the herds? And are any with certain buck levels doing better or worse? And if any are is not hunting...
