THEY'RE UP

It's at least 5 min after posting them and I haven't seen a single person that drew a tag. Everyone getting all red.

Nevada treated me well again, very luck to get an Area 111 ALW deer tag and area 115 ALW Depredation bull Elk tag, no more NV summer archery tags for me now that im spending the summers, in alaska. but pretty happy with the Fall tags...

good luck to all!!

Well its been a disapointing draw for us my dad all red wife all red my daughter all red my son all red guess you can see a pattern myself red.

AwardedChoice 5: Hunter Choice Number 1358 - Elk, Resident, Any Legal Weapon, 062, Antlerless September 17 - October 04

Zero points (burned 1 point on FCFS last year then couldn't hunt my tag due to family emergency). Blessed.
Good luck on this hunt and if you dont mind let me know how it goes. I drew the Nov 6 - Jan 1 tag.

Nothing for me or my boys , not even the resident son and grandson. Not even my resident friends. Terrible luck 🤬

Been wondering about this for a while. I understand that you regain all of your points if you turn a tag in before the season starts. Do you also receive an additional point as if you didn't draw in the first place?

Daughter and I drew 071-079,091 late Deer. Looking forward to seeing a new unit and getting her on her first big game animal as a youth hunter.
140-160 should be doable, maybe better if you get weather but then access becomes an issue.

Better than a stick in the eye though.

Nothing for me once again so far I haven’t drawn anything this season. Let’s hope California, Oregon. Arizona or Colorado comes through with something.

Congrats to all the guys that drew. There were some great tags drawn and should be some great stories here in about 7 months. I split points with my daughter again this year. We drew NR cow tags in 61/71. She'll be a hs freshmen next year and I realize these memories will be hard to come by in a few years. I'm a little scared about that! She is stoked to get her first chance at an elk. This is her third big game tag. Hopefully too much hasn't changed in the units since 2016!

"Not Successful"

At my age do they not know how disrespectful this is?
I'm with you Eel. They need to start issuing some senior tags instead of so many youth tags. We've put our time in. I'll guarantee you there's a lot of daddies shooting critters with youth tags

You weren't buying points across all western states? So now you want "senior tags" allocated?

You should be very busy with preference tags if you hadn't been cheap.

I started applying in 1997, and liked the fact some states were bonus, and some preference. Often I got criticized on forums for hogging the preference points and waiting too long to spend them. Well, today I'm very glad I rationed them to use little at a time. Because otherwise, I could not plan anything. Last few years I pick one to cash in on where I'm virtually assured of drawing. (This year UT Paunsagunt deer), then taylor all my remaining longshot bonus point apps around those hunt dates. Working well. But even with 25+ bonus for most these other states, I've not hit on any 1-2%ers. Even WY general elk is only a 6% odds these days. And that's really just an opportunity hunt. Got four left WY (2) & AZ (2) to add to my UT hunt, but very unlikely to draw. Never thought this would play out like this. Feel sorry for newbies. At least I'll have one OIL hunt/year until 2028 via the preference states. In the others like NV, I doubt I'll ever draw unless I pick all five poor quality deer hunts. After 2028, I guess I'll start trying to burn my remaining bonus points on low tier units. If my body is even able at 70. But I do not need "senior tags" . That only contributes to the supply problem, like outfitter welfare programs have done.

Nothin wrong with bein cheap ;)

Cheap is fine.

You passed up on the opportunity to get many excellent preference tags in WY, AZ, CO & UT. So no crying now for senior tags when you failed to get in those silly preference lines in each of those preference states. Juniors weren't alive when you made those decisions.

Who said he passed up anything. Life may not of lined up correctly to do multiple hunts a year. Also some built point to use latter in life once retired. Some of the points can be used to hunt with your children. You need to quit telling people what they should have done. You have no idea how family, work, and life gets in the way of people’s plans. You belittle people for trying to plan ahead.

This post was going along fine till you interjected. Are you related to Tri State. The way I prevent gettin up on the wrong side of the bed, is I shove that side against the wall. Have a good day

Apologies. I didn't see the joke here. Looked like an older guy wanting senior tags "instead of so many junior tags". And accusing daddies of shooting critters on youth tags.

And I still don't see a joke here.

The dad's filling their kids tags thing definitely happens..... Same with guys shooting their kids birds on youth hunt weekend. It happens more frequently than most realize

Watched a guy get nailed for shooting a mechanical deer on the wrong side of road (outside the unit) when it was his 12 year old kid that had the tag. Enjoyed seeing him caught.

Turns out a good friend pulled a 76-3 moose tag as a nonresident. Will be a healthy challenge in that unit. May have to peel off from my overlapping archery elk hunt to give a hand for a few days. Always fun trying to find a good bull moose.
Sounds like an Idaho tag. There are no non res moose tags available in Nevada

my bad. Wrong thread! LOL

And true. I do look forward to someday seeing a nonres moose tag available! That would mean the population of really coming along!

A buddy of mine is a warden in Nebraska. He was running the decoy with another warden while his girlfriend who is the federal warden and two other wardens were waiting for someone to make the slip.

The decoy was in the no hunting area of a federal refuge and the was a sign that said no hunting between the road and it. A guy pulls up, gets his rifle out and shoots twice before my buddy makes the decoy shake it's head in the no motion to prevent it from being shot a 3rd time. He had his two kids in the back and the only tags they had were kids tags.

What a great example to show your children...
