I dont hunt OTC arch elk so it wont effect me much on the surface, but it will start to impact everything else. I like what the draw working group is recommending so far. Adding a random element to the draw and eliminating most of the good reissue tags by having the abilty to opt in if you are...
Looks like 41080 sheep apps for 336 tags, 31677 goat apps for 244 tags, and 5895 desert apps for 15 tags. Thats 78652 apps for 595 tags. Its a lottery folks. Slightly better odds if you have a few points and are a resident. Never going to get easier. Demand has outpaced supply as long as I...
Why do archery guys still get an OTC area that doesent burn points? I don't have a problem merging the 3 systems, but finding a fair way to do it seems pretty hard. Just hunters continuing to fight with hunters over the same set of tags.
If you are starting from scratch with no prior knowledge I would say the the harder it is to draw the better it will be on average. The "market" is usually correct. If you have hunted a unit before and have some info it might be worth switching to an easier to draw unit. I have some units I...
No unit in colorado is worth the points it takes to draw if you have been playing the game for awhile, but the points required to draw is still relative to the perceived quality of the hunt. Where else are you going to go with your points? The market says 8 points gets you a shot at 140-160...
SJ is better hands down. Vernon has 35 landowner vouchers this year. A large chunk of those 35 tags go to guided hunters or hunters with a posse. A ton of competetion and hunters concentrated for the handful of 170 plus bucks every year.
Nonresident shed season to start may 1. Year round for residents. Sounds like they wanted some kind of reciprocity but it got to complicated. Sorry non residents. Thank Wyoming.
