The deer hunt I drew (Henry ALW) must suck. I was the only one to apply with 28 points. There were 14 potential nonresident applicants, 5 ahead and 9 with me going in for 2 tags, so I was not feeling it was anywhere close to a sure deal. Only 5 of the 9 with me at 28 points applied to draw tags...

They have been running 10 or so calendar days from the due date the last few years. That makes this Wednesday the most likely day. 10 working days gives them till Monday morning the following week.

I had to apply for 13B this year with max points, as a nonresident... Sort of hoping I don't draw this year for more time on the Henry Mountains, but I'll take it if I draw it. I'm close enough to retirement that I'll blow off work if I must:) Same goes for sheep:)

I am happy and I am NOT cutting up my deer tag! But if I did, I would think my video would win.

Did it. Looks like the tag is removed from my privileges, I have a refund for the full amount to my card and my points stayed at post draw level.

Thanks! I only applied for a second choice, 25, as a backup plan, but have a conflicting hunt in Utah that is probably a better deer hunt. Henry Mountains ALW Buck....

The "points used to draw" language on the refund application is not in the reversal description. It looks to me that if you want to keep your points plus the one for this year and get a refund for a second choice tag, you need to wait to get the tag then return it for a refund minus $15. Is that...

It would be more work and maybe require an intermediate sizing step, neck reaming and annealing, but 375 H&H brass is available from some of the usual places that sell reloading stuff.

So is that the Golden Opportunity tag buck just north of the Goodale boundary that people were talking about? I think the timing is close. It has been a long time, but looks a lot like the picture i remember seeing.

Guess you could start calling everyone named the same. I do remember talk of someone killing a real beast on a Golden State tag about 20 years ago a bit north of Goodale. I have no idea if it is the same buck.

Yes, but you forfeit the whole fee and have your points restored to pre draw level. You don't get the point for this year. Or get back all but $15 and forfeit all points used to draw. It's a better option on a a second choice.
